All competitions

Menu item in the sidebar, always reachable as the first item. Leads back to the home page with the list of all competitions created (see Competitions (home page)).

AI assistantKür App only

Menu item (global). Explains the AI access of the app: a language model may create competitions, set up categories and judges’ panels and enter participants through a fixed list of tools. The page shows what the access can do and which configuration it needs.

Sidebar

The narrow icon bar on the left. It navigates the app level — always the same items, wherever you are: “All competitions”, “Public”, “AI assistant” and “Backup” (the last two only in the Kür App). The active item is marked. The tools of a competition are NOT here but in the toolbar of its room (see Toolbar). On narrow screens the sidebar becomes a fixed bar at the bottom edge.

BackupKür App only

Menu item that opens the data backup (automatic backups, back up now, USB export). Always in the sidebar (see Data backup).

Tools

All tools of a competition are reachable at any time through the toolbar of its room — visibly labelled, independent of the current phase (see Toolbar).

Toolbar

The tab row under the competition header, visible on every page of a competition: Set up, Forms, Import, Start order, Schedule, Music, Start check, Live, Results and History (in the browser the tabs end after the start check — Live, Results and History belong to competition day). The active tab is marked; display and QR codes sit as jump-off points on the right of the header. Every tool is one click from every competition page — nothing sits in a submenu any more.

Screens

ResultsKür App only

Shows the live ranking per category (place, gymnast or group, club, points) and updates itself as soon as scores arrive or are released. Results not yet released are marked “provisional”. Once a category is fully scored, buttons appear for printing the results list, certificates and individual score sheets; if the category has no scoring model, a note is shown instead.

Data backupKür App only

The backup centre, on competition day the life insurance. Shows the state of the automatic backup (last backup, interval in minutes, folder, last error), offers “Back up now”, “Export to USB stick” (give a target folder) and a list of the latest backups with time and size. It copies the local database file of the Kür App.

Set up

Tab in the toolbar of every competition: the complete configuration in sections: master data (name, date, venue, organiser); scoring model (rule set, judge counts, trimmed mean, rounding, difficulty components DB/DA, tolerance table, deduction chips); categories (apparatus programme and order, group category, for compulsory routines additionally the A base value); judges’ panel (with judge seats and the “Who sits where” area); judges & staff (the roster of people who do not compete — add, change, remove); enter a gymnast; entered participants (search, edit, change category, change the apparatus programme individually, remove); start list (take over entries, generate start list, publish start list, print QR codes); as well as online registration & event page and the online backup. Open points are marked with ⚠.

New competition

The creation page: name, date, venue, organiser and default rule set — after creating it you go straight into Set up. An existing competition is cloned as a template from the ⋯ menu of its card on “All competitions”. Rule sets that cannot be computed (e.g. regional federation) are greyed out until the scoring core handles them.

Individual score sheetKür App only

A print-ready A4 page per participant (or per group) with the complete calculation: per apparatus the difficulty (DB/DA), every A and E judge value individually — dropped values are marked as dropped —, the neutral deduction and from that the apparatus score, below it the total points and the rank. The sheet is the document of record for queries and protests. Opened from Results.

Judge tablet (Judge)Kür App only

The input screen of a judge. It is assigned to a judge seat by QR code (the role stays stored). At the top the role, competition/panel and status symbols (online/offline, live connected, queue). On the left the current gymnast (switched by the competition management) and the large result display; on the right the input: A and E judges tap deductions as chips, OBER gives a neutral deduction, DB/DA give the difficulty through the number pad. Identical deductions stack into one chip with a counter badge. Every input is first saved locally and then sent; “Correct” fetches the last sent input back. Warns on too large a deviation (disputed) or an unusually high value. High arena contrast, light + dark.

Licence activationKür App only

The screen on which the installed app is unlocked for this device with an email address and a licence key. The activation also sets up the online access of this Kür App (see Device account).

Live controlKür App only

The screen for competition day, in three columns: action, sequence and ranking, plus the panel row with the judge seats. At the top the focus stage “Now on the floor” (current gymnast or group with name, start number, club, category, apparatus and score status), next to it “Up next” and “Last”. The competition management switches the current routine (it appears on all tablets immediately), releases scores (the “Release” button automatically advances to the next start number), sets “Checked” or withdraws releases. In the panel row a failed judge seat can be stood down or handed to a substitute with a new QR access. Below that an accordion of the rotations — only the active one open, the others as status lines. A connection dot shows “live” or “disconnected”; with several panels you can switch between them. Warns on disputed scores. The column widths can be adjusted with a splitter, the ranking can be collapsed.

Music & ZIP export

The competition music in start order: per routine, whether the file is in the Kür App (“Here”), still to be fetched online (“Still online”), has disappeared (“File missing”) or was never submitted (“No music”). The download packs everything into a ZIP for the music desk; the naming pattern of the files can be set (start number, name, club, apparatus as placeholders). Collecting music belongs to the preparation, not to competition day — the screen therefore exists in both versions.

Next step

The button on every competition card of the home page: exactly one next action for the current phase (e.g. “Create a judges’ panel”, “Generate start list”, “Live: keep scoring”). On problems (e.g. an open A base value or disputed scores) it is coloured as a warning.

Arena display (public display)Kür App only

The public arena display for a TV or screen in the hall, opened in a new tab through “Display” in the competition header. Shows large and live: who is currently on the floor (“Now”), the last released score and the live ranking of the running category. Released scores only — in public only what is official counts. Read-only, updates itself (SSE with automatic reconnect), large type for the hall, light + dark.

Public (area)

Menu item “Public” (global, visible without an open competition). Shows which competitions are currently on the public website (online) — including those already deleted locally (“orphans”). One click takes a competition completely off the net: announcement, entries, start list, results and poster/documents. Nothing local is affected; it needs internet and the online access set up.

Online registration & event page

The card in Set up through which the competition becomes public: the announcement (competition, categories with apparatus programme, entry deadline, address of the venue, contact, notes, documents, poster) goes online, and the registration window can be opened and closed. The four event-page details are saved separately so that a second device with empty fields does not overwrite the details maintained online. If something did not go out, the note “saved here, not online” stays with its own button until it really is published.

QR codes for judge seatsKür App only

A printable sheet with one QR code per judge seat. The judge scans her code once, then the tablet is permanently assigned to that seat. Important: at the top the LAN address of the Kür App can be set (not localhost) — the app suggests it automatically so that the tablets reach the server. Opens in a new tab.

Legal

Page in the gear menu next to the account: the three records for the online registration in one place, in the order in which you keep them. The contracts apply to the whole access, the other two per competition — a competition selector sits at the top for that. Contracts agreed to (terms of use and data processing agreement, each with version and time of the agreement — the record required by Art. 28 (9) GDPR). Consent confirmations of the entering clubs: when entering, the club confirms that consent of the guardians exists for its gymnasts; the consent itself stays with the club. Entries without a confirmation are listed first. Access log: who retrieved entry data of this competition when, and how many records went out — the retrieval is recorded, never its content. All three come from the online registration. The state last fetched is carried along locally and can be seen without internet — always with the date of its retrieval.

Results listKür App only

A print-ready A4 results list of a category (place, gymnast or group, club, points) with competition name, organiser and date. If it still contains results that are not released, the note “provisional — not an official results list” appears. Opened from Results.

Start check & test calculation

The last preparation step: passed as soon as no blocker is open any more (missing judge seats, a scoring model that cannot be computed, missing apparatus). “To confirm” points (placeholders such as the tolerance table or QR accesses) do not block but stay visible. The page shows the short status and a test calculation per category which demonstrates with example values what apparatus and final score the configured scoring model produces — checking the configuration without real scores. The point “QR access missing” only appears in the competition-day version; in the browser there are no judge tablets that need an access.

Start order

Here you set the order in which the routines run (the start numbers). Two presets rebuild the whole order: “By rotation” (RSG standard/English system, recommended) or “By gymnast”. The list is grouped by rotation. If the order switches between categories (for example after importing a KSIS start list), a category appears as often as it is up. For fine adjustment, contiguous category blocks or single routines can be moved within their rotation with the arrows ↑/↓. Every change is saved immediately and determines the sequence on the tablets and in the live control. The planned start times from the schedule are shown in the list. Raw values stay untouched.

Import participants (import)

Takes the entries into the competition, from two sources: from a CSV/Excel file (columns: first/last name or name, year of birth, club, class, country) and from the online registrations (“Fetch entries online”). Sequence: upload the file → “Analyse” shows an overview (rows, recognised clubs and clubs to clarify, known/new gymnasts, missing categories) → decide on ambiguous clubs in the clarification list (create new or assign, the spelling is learned as an alias) → “Import” saves clubs, gymnasts and start places. If there is nothing to clarify, one click takes over everything entered with visible progress. Missing categories can be created as shells. A **KSIS start list as PDF** additionally creates, in the same sequence, the categories (with year of birth and routines), one rotation per table with date, start time and interval, and the routines in the rotation of the list; existing categories stay as they are set up. Without a judges’ panel the routines are only created when the same file is uploaded once more after the panel exists. A column of a CSV/Excel file never brings apparatus — that comes from the category configuration; only the apparatus symbols of the KSIS start list suggest routines for new categories and bring the apparatus choice along.

CertificatesKür App only

Print-ready certificates of a category, one A4 page per participant with competition name, place, name, club, category and points. Results not yet released carry the note “Provisional — not released”. Opened from Results.

Score historyKür App only

The complete course of a competition: every judge input with time, seat and value (corrections point to their predecessor) and next to it the log of the management decisions — release changed, opened for correction, correction completed, score corrected, judge failed, judge reactivated, substitute judge. Nothing is ever overwritten or deleted.

Competitions (home page)

The home page of the competition management (“All competitions”). Shows all competitions as cards with name, date, venue, a slim phase bar (“Phase 4 of 6” with a progress bar and a traffic-light dot grey/green/yellow/red at the phase name) and numbers (categories, entries, released, disputed) as well as the recommended next step. One click opens the Set up of that competition; at the top right the button “New competition”. Below — if present — two more lists appear: “Competitions planned online” (planned in the browser, with the button “Fetch plan”) and “Fetch from the online backup” (competitions backed up on another device, with “Fetch into the app”).

Schedule (rotations)

The screen on which the day is divided up: create rotations (scoring, break, medal ceremony) with day, start time and interval, assign the blocks (category × rotation) to the rotations and split large blocks into start groups. From the rotation start, the position and the interval, the planned time of every routine follows. The start numbers follow the rotation order so that tablets, live control and arena display show the same sequence.

Access to the competition managementKür App only

The password prompt in front of the management area of the installed app. One password in the Kür App, checked purely locally, without internet — so that competition day works in the arena Wi-Fi. The judge tablets and the arena display are deliberately NOT protected: they come in through a QR access, and an arena display has no keyboard.

Functions

Cancel (special deduction)Kür App only

Closes the special-deduction number pad on the tablet without taking a value over and goes back to the chip grid.

Tap a deduction chipKür App only

Taps a predefined deduction value on the judge tablet (e.g. 0.10 / 0.30). The deductions add up; the score (base minus the sum) is the large display. Identical values tapped several times stack into one chip with a counter. Single deductions can be removed again by tapping them in the list.

End the current routineKür App only

Lifts the current routine (nothing active on the floor any more) without releasing it.

Set currentKür App only

Determines which routine on the floor is being scored right now. The choice is sent to all tablets and the display immediately so that the judges score the right gymnast.

Show everything / only the currentKür App only

Switches the rotation list in the live control between “only the active rotation open” and “all rotations open”.

Up next / start the nextKür App only

Sets the routine coming up next as the current one.

Clone as a template

Creates a copy of an existing competition as a starting point: asks for the name of the new competition, copies the structure and opens it in Set up. New date = today, venue/organiser empty.

other… (special deduction)Kür App only

Opens the number pad on the tablet to enter a deduction value that is not predefined and add it to the sum of deductions.

Open / close registration

Opens or closes the registration window of the event page. With the window closed, the online form accepts no new entries; those already received stay.

Fetch entries online

Fetches the online entries (individual and groups) into the import screen. From there they are checked and taken over like a file. Fetching several times creates no duplicates.

Export to a USB stickKür App only

Copies a current backup into a given target folder (e.g. a USB stick). Reports the target path after success.

Generate start list

Creates the individual routines (participant × apparatus) from every entry (start place) times the apparatus programme of the category. Reports how many were newly created and how many already existed; existing ones are not created twice. Where an apparatus selection is missing, no routine is created on purpose — the gymnast appears as “apparatus missing”.

Update announcement

Sends the current state of the competition (name, date, venue, categories with apparatus programme, entry count) to the event page again without changing the registration window.

Back up nowKür App only

Creates a manual hot backup of the competition database immediately (in addition to the automatic backups). Runs during operation without blocking the tablets.

Assign a block to a rotation

Attaches a block (category × rotation) to a rotation of the schedule. Always the whole block is assigned, never a single gymnast.

Analyse the file

Reads the uploaded start-list file and matches clubs, gymnasts and categories against the master data. Result: a summary and a clarification list — nothing is saved yet.

Open Set up

Opens the Set up editor of a competition (master data, scoring model, categories, judges’ panel, participants, start list, online registration).

Create missing categories

Creates categories that occur in the file but are missing in the competition as shells (programme free/compulsory recognised from the name, apparatus at first the placeholder “None” — to be set in Set up). Afterwards the file is analysed again automatically. Without this step, rows of missing categories are skipped during the import.

Withdraw a releaseKür App only

Lifts a release that was given (the routine then no longer counts for the ranking). Also available as “Undo release” at “Last” and per rotation line.

ReleaseKür App only

Releases the score of the current routine — only then does it count for the ranking. Automatically advances to the next start number and sets it as current.

CheckedKür App only

Marks the current routine as checked by the competition management (an intermediate step before the release). Can be switched back with “Undo check”.

Change the apparatus programme of a gymnast

Sets a different apparatus programme for a single gymnast although her category has a fixed one. The routines are extended or shortened accordingly; routines that already carry scores are not removed silently. Resetting restores the category default.

Import (commit)

After the clarification, takes the data over for good: creates new clubs, aliases, gymnasts and start places and reports the numbers. Afterwards the selection is reset so that the same file is not imported twice by accident.

Fetch into the app

Plays a competition backed up on another device completely into this app (online backup, see Multi-device backup).

Create a judges’ panel

Creates a judges’ panel (technically: panel): one floor with its judge seats. The button becomes active as soon as a label and at least one judge seat are chosen. A QR access for signing the tablet in is created for every seat.

Delete a judges’ panel

Removes a judges’ panel with its judge seats.

Expand/collapse a category

Opens or closes a category block in the start order to see the individual routines and fine-tune them.

Add a category

Creates a new category from name, programme (free / DTB compulsory) and the chosen apparatus programme. The button only becomes active once a name is set and at least one apparatus is chosen.

Delete a category

Removes a category from the competition.

Move a category block (↑/↓)

Moves a contiguous category block up/down within its rotation in the start order. The internal order inside the block is kept. Saves immediately.

Correct (undo)Kür App only

Fetches the score last sent back into the input on the tablet in order to change it and send it again. The correction replaces the previous score; the old value is kept as history.

Reset the management passwordKür App only

The way out when the password of the competition management has been forgotten: in the Kür App menu Help → “Reset management password…”, when starting from the Kür folder double-click “Passwort-zuruecksetzen”. Deletes only the password — competitions, scores, entries and the licence stay. The management then asks for a new password immediately; other signed-in browsers have to sign in again. Only works directly at the Kür App — nobody gets in this way from the arena Wi-Fi.

Last one back / deleteKür App only

On the tablet: for deduction judges it removes the deduction chip tapped last, for DB/DA it clears the number input.

Download the music ZIP

Packs all music files present into an archive for the music desk, named after the configured pattern. The download runs as an ordinary link so that even a very large archive does not slow the device down.

Create a new competition

Creates a new competition from the form “New competition” (name, date, venue, organiser, rule set) and goes straight into Set up. The chosen rule set pre-fills the scoring model.

Send score / valueKür App only

Sends the judge’s score (A/E: “Send score …”, OBER: “Send deduction …”, DB/DA: “Send difficulty …”). The input is first saved locally on the tablet (outbox) and then sent — losing the connection never blocks, sending twice has no effect.

Choose a panel (live)Kür App only

With several judges’ panels: switch which panel the live control steers.

Fetch plan

Fetches a competition planned in the browser into this app: creates it locally with its categories and puts the announcement online. From then on the app is the source — categories can no longer be changed online.

Undo checkKür App only

Sets the status “checked” back to open.

Scan a QR code (tablet sign-in)Kür App only

A judge tablet signs in at a judge seat through the QR access from the scanned QR code. Without an access, the tablet shows the prompt to scan; with it, it loads the panel, the role, the chips and the A base.

Print QR codesKür App only

Opens the printable QR-code page of the competition (access codes of the judge seats for scanning on the tablets).

Load a rule set

Loads another rule set into the scoring form and overwrites the current scoring inputs. It only takes effect after “Save scoring model”. Locked (non-computable) rule sets are refused; before overwriting there is a confirmation question.

Order by rotation

Rebuilds the whole start order following the RSG standard (“English system”): per category everybody performs the 1st apparatus first, then everybody the next. Recommended preset. Saves immediately; raw values stay untouched.

Order by gymnast

Rebuilds the start order so that every gymnast performs her apparatus in one go. Saves immediately.

RestoreKür App only

Restores the live database from a backup (a hard restart of the device). No button in the app — it only runs on the command line (`npm run restore -- <backup file>`) and only with the server stopped.

Judge failure / substituteKür App only

Stands a failed judge seat down in the panel row of the live control: it then no longer counts towards completeness, and the scoring continues from the remaining values. A substitute takes over the same seat through a newly issued QR access. Both end up in the log (see Score history).

Create a rotation

Creates a section of the day in the schedule: type scoring, break or medal ceremony, with day, start time and interval. Start times of following rotations are computed from it as long as they are not fixed (see Cascade).

Print the results listKür App only

Opens the printable results list of a category. Only available if the scoring of the category is complete.

Save master data

Saves the changed basic data of the competition: name, date, venue and organiser.

Divide into start groups

Splits a large block in the schedule into groups of a fixed size (group 1, 2, …) or dissolves the division again. Pure sequence information, without any influence on the scoring.

Publish the start list

Puts the start list publicly on the event page. Only then do the NAMES of the participants appear in public — until then the event page shows only entry counts and clubs. Publishing again updates it; “withdraw” takes the list off the net again.

Show disputedKür App only

Jumps in the live control to the rotation in which a disputed score (too large a deviation between judges) is present and opens it.

Enter a gymnast

Enters a single gymnast for the competition (serial input). After saving, the first and last names are cleared, but club, category and year of birth stay for the next gymnast of the same club/class. Unknown clubs are created automatically.

Move a gymnast (↑/↓)

Moves a single routine one position up/down within its category in the start order (blocks stay together — no swapping across category boundaries). Saves immediately.

Print certificatesKür App only

Opens the printable certificates of a category. Only available if the scoring of the category is complete.

Take off the net

Takes a competition completely off the internet: announcement, entries, start list, results and uploaded files. This is also the way in which a deletion request under the GDPR is fulfilled. The local state in the Kür App stays untouched.

Set the A base value (compulsory)

Saves the A base value for a compulsory category (the starting value of the A score according to the catalogue). Without it, the category cannot be computed yet (warning “A base value open”).

Save the scoring model

Saves the complete scoring model of the competition (judge counts, trimmed mean, rounding, components, tolerance table, deduction chips). These values steer how scores are calculated and which chips appear on the tablets.

Input fields

A base value

A number (e.g. 5.00) as the starting point of the A score in a compulsory category. Only visible with the programme “DTB compulsory” (see A base value in the section Technical terms).

A judges (count)

Number of A judges (artistry) in the judges’ panel. A number 1–9.

Deduction chips per group (A / E / OBER)

The predefined deduction values that appear to the judges on the tablets as chips to tap — per group A, E, OBER. Separated by spaces in the DACH comma format, e.g. “0,10 0,30 0,50”. These values go onto the tablets one to one. (The A chips are still placeholders in substance, open on the customer’s side.)

Address of the venue

Address of the location for the event page. Coaches have to find their way there, which is why it sits near the top.

Displayed decimal places

To how many places after the comma scores are shown/rounded. A number 0–6 (see Rounding).

Label of the judges’ panel

Name of the panel/floor, e.g. “Panel 1” or “Floor 1”.

File (import upload)

Selection of the start-list file for the import. Allowed formats: CSV, TSV, TXT, XLSX, XLSM and the KSIS start list as PDF (recognised by its content, not its extension). Expected columns for CSV/Excel: first name/last name or name, year of birth, club, class, country.

Date

Competition day as a calendar date. Its own calendar instead of the browser picker, pre-filled with today.

E judges (count)

Number of E judges (execution) in the judges’ panel. A number 1–9.

Apparatus + order

Selection of the apparatus this category performs (none, hoop, ball, clubs, ribbon, rope). The order of clicking (#1, #2 …) determines the order of the rotations. Only from this selection do the routines arise later — never from the import (see apparatusSet).

Apparatus programme of this gymnast

In the participant list per row: the apparatus programme of a single gymnast, differing from the category default. If nothing differing is in there, the category default applies.

Group category

Checkbox on the category: 2 to 8 gymnasts perform as one group. The group is then the scoring unit — one score per routine, one place in the ranking. Individual gymnasts cannot be entered into a group category, and it always performs a fixed apparatus programme (no “by choice”, no slots).

Notes (event page)

Free text of the organiser for the event page: invitation text, particulars, prizes.

Year of birth

Year of birth of the gymnast (a number, e.g. 2015). A required field for the entry.

Category (entry)

Selection of the existing category the entry goes into. Only possible after at least one category has been created.

Category name

Label of the category/age class, e.g. “2017B”. The name is at the same time the key by which online entries are assigned to their category — whoever renames has to bring the entries along.

Contact (name / email / telephone / languages)

The contact person of the organiser on the event page.

Country

Country code of the gymnast, pre-filled “GER”.

Entry deadline

Cut-off date of the registration on the event page (a date). Until then coaches can change their entries in the portal.

Music naming pattern

What the files in the music ZIP should be called, composed of placeholders (e.g. start number, name, club, apparatus). The pattern is remembered in the browser of this Kür App, not saved at the competition.

Last name

Last name of the gymnast.

Name (competition)

Label of the competition, e.g. “Butterfly Cup 2027”. A required field — without a name the create button is locked.

Venue

Location/hall of the competition (free text).

Poster / documents (event page)

One event poster (JPG/PNG) for the event page and the competition list, plus any number of PDF documents (e.g. the announcement for download).

Programme (category)

Scoring programme of the category: “free” or “DTB compulsory”. Determines whether an A base value is needed.

Rule set (default)

Selection of the scoring standard (e.g. FIG free individual). Pre-fills the scoring when creating (A/E judge counts, averaging, deduction chips, tolerance). Greyed-out rule sets are locked because the scoring core does not yet compute their score model. “Own (neutral)” = without pre-filling (see scoringModel).

Judge seats (roles)

Selection of the judge roles of this panel as chips: DB, DA, A1, A2, E1, E2, OBER — with two difficulty judges per side additionally DB1/DB2 and DA1/DA2. Every role clicked becomes a judge seat with its own access.

Apparatus difficulty (DA)

Checkbox that switches the scoring component apparatus difficulty (DA) on/off.

Body difficulty (DB)

Checkbox that switches the scoring component body difficulty (DB) on/off.

Start group size

How many routines are combined per start group when a block in the schedule is divided.

Trimmed mean from … judges

From how many judges the highest and lowest value are dropped. A number 2–12 (see Trimmed mean).

Interval (minutes per routine)

How many minutes a rotation plans per routine. From this the app calculates the planned start times. Default 2.

Tolerance table (up to score / max. deviation)

Governs from which deviation between judges a routine counts as “disputed”. Per row “up to score” and “max. deviation”; rows can be added and deleted. The values are marked as OPEN, to be confirmed by the customer (see Tolerance table in the section Data objects).

Organiser

The club/federation hosting the competition (free text).

Club

Club name of the gymnast, e.g. “TSV Musterstadt”. A required field. If the club is unknown, it is created automatically.

First name

First name of the gymnast.

Target folder (USB export)

Absolute path of the export target, e.g. “/Volumes/USB”. Without a path the export button is locked.

Number pad input

Number input through the keys 1–9, 0, comma and ⌫ (backspace). For DB/DA judges (additive difficulty) and for special deductions. DACH comma, max. 4 digits.

Technical terms

A base value

The starting value of the A part score. In free routines fixed at 10 (A score = 10 minus deductions); in compulsory routines the value from the compulsory catalogue from which deductions are calculated. This compulsory value is still open on the customer’s side; if it is missing, the compulsory model deliberately does not compute (instead of delivering a wrong number).

A score (artistry)

The artistry part score of an apparatus: A base value (free 10) minus the averaged deduction of the A judges. Never becomes negative; without A inputs = 0.

Deduction chips

Predefined quick keys for common deduction values per judge group (A, E, OBER) that appear on the tablet as chips. Configurable in the rule set. The A chips are still placeholders in substance (open on the customer’s side).

Registration window

The state of the event page in which the online form accepts entries. The organiser opens and closes it by hand; the entry deadline sits next to it as a date.

apparatusSet (apparatus programme of the category)

The list of apparatus a category performs, set in Set up, including the order. The sole source of which apparatus is performed; from start place × apparatus programme the routines arise.

Routine

The unit that is scored: one gymnast (or one group) performs in one category on ONE apparatus. A routine carries a start number, a planned start time, a rotation and a judges’ panel. A gymnast whose category performs four apparatus therefore has four routines. The routine is not the same as the rotation: the rotation is the round, the routine the single start within it. Technically the routine is called “performance”.

Announcement

The public details of the competition that are on the event page: entry deadline, address of the venue, contact, notes, documents and poster — plus the categories with their apparatus programme. It is the basis on which coaches enter online.

Block

One category in one rotation, i.e. “Youth B, second rotation (ball)”. The block is the unit in which the day is divided up: not single gymnasts move into a rotation but the whole block. Large blocks can be split into start groups.

Rotation

A round within a category: all participants of that category on the same apparatus. Which apparatus belongs to which rotation follows from the apparatus order in the category’s apparatus programme; the interface counts from 1. The standard is “apparatus by apparatus” (English system): first everybody performs the first apparatus, then everybody the next. The single start of a gymnast within it is the routine. (Not to be confused with the rotation in the day schedule.)

E score (execution)

The execution part score of an apparatus: 10 minus the averaged deduction of the E judges. Never becomes negative; without E inputs = 0.

Frozen (entries)

After the final import the organiser sets the online entries to “frozen”: coaches can then no longer change their entries. That keeps the start list and the schedule stable.

Final score / total points

The sum of the counting apparatus scores of a participant (which apparatus count is determined by the all-around of the category). The basis of the ranking. Always calculated from the raw values, never stored in the database.

Event page

The public page of a competition on the internet: announcement, registration form, later the start list and the results. It arises from the announcement and is filled by the app or by the organiser access.

Apparatus / hand apparatus

The RSG hand apparatus performed in a rotation. Six fixed values: NONE, HOOP, BALL, CLUBS, RIBBON, ROPE. The apparatus always comes from the category configuration, never from an import or a PDF.

Device account

The own online access of a competition device, set up during the licence activation. It may only do what the app really needs (put the announcement online, fetch entries, publish the start list and results, fetch music). Planning, deleting and contract data stay reserved for people with their own access.

Apparatus score

The score of a single routine: DB + DA + A score + E score minus neutral deductions. Never becomes negative.

Apparatus programme of a gymnast

A differing apparatus programme for a single gymnast in a category with a fixed apparatus list. Meant for the individual case (e.g. a gymnast performs one apparatus fewer), not for “by choice” — the choice modes of the category exist for that.

Group (RSG group)

Two to eight gymnasts who perform as ONE scoring unit: one score per routine, one place in the ranking. It is entered as a group (group name, club, members) and taken over into a group category. Not to be confused with the start group, which only orders the sequence.

Cascade (start times)

The times of the day schedule are computed forward: the first rotation is the anchor; every further one begins at the end of the previous one (its start plus routines × interval) as long as its time is not explicitly fixed. A fixed rotation re-anchors the following ones.

Free (Kür)

The standard scoring model: apparatus score = difficulty (DB+DA) + A score + E score. The A part score starts at 10, deductions are subtracted. Stored in the rule set as “kuer” and computed correctly in substance by the scoring core.

Competition music

The music file for a routine. Coaches upload it in the portal with their entry; the app fetches it once (the screen column “Still online” means: ready, but not fetched yet). On competition day it plays from the Kür App or from the music ZIP — not from the internet.

Licence key

Email address plus key with which the installed app is unlocked on a device. Without activation the competition-day version does not start.

Tenant (organiser)

Whom the data belongs to. On competition day there is exactly one tenant: in the Kür App there is ONE database with ONE organiser. Online, several organisers share the same database, and every query is narrowed down to the own tenant — that is why no coach and no organiser sees names and years of birth of other people’s children.

All-around

The selection of apparatus whose apparatus scores count towards the overall result of a category. A subset of the apparatus programme — so an apparatus can be performed but kept out of the overall result.

Multi-device backup

A complete state of a competition that the app stores online encrypted so that a second device can fetch it (“Fetch into the app”). It does not replace a backup on competition day.

Neutral deduction

A deduction for infringements such as the line, time or others, entered by the head judges’ panel (OBER). It is subtracted from the apparatus score; missing = 0.

Score status

The progress of the scoring of a routine in five stages: PLANNED (no input) → SUBMITTED (first inputs) → COMPLETE (all required roles have entered) → CHECKED (checked by the management) → RELEASED (released by the management). The first three stages follow automatically from the inputs, the last two are deliberate decisions of the management. PLANNED: The routine is scheduled but not a single judge input exists yet. SUBMITTED: At least one judge input exists, but not yet all required roles. COMPLETE: All required roles (the A/E judges demanded plus DB and DA where applicable) have an active input. Seats stood down do not count. The score can now be checked. CHECKED: The management has checked the complete score (an intermediate step before the release). RELEASED: The management has released the score. Only released scores count for the ranking.

Online version / competition-day version

The same software in two modes. The competition-day version is the installed Kür App; it runs the day in the arena network without internet and can do everything. The online version runs in the browser and leaves out everything that hangs on the scoring operation: score input, display, QR accesses, results, printouts and the local backup; the AI assistant also exists only in the installed app. Preparing, planning and entering work in both.

Compulsory / DTB compulsory

An alternative scoring model (A+E): the A part score does not start at 10 but at the value from the compulsory catalogue (A base value), and for every missing compulsory element e.g. −0.30 is deducted; the E score is 10 minus execution deductions. DB/DA do not apply. Without a set A base value the results cannot be computed and the category is marked as “open”.

Mirror the planning

The app sends its planning state (categories, judges’ panel, schedule) back online so that the event page and the organiser access show the same state. The Kür App does not overwrite a state maintained online that is newer.

Ranking / placing

The order sorted by total points descending (rank 1-2-2-4; a tie shares the same rank). Only released scores count. The real tie-break rule is still open on the customer’s side.

Rotation (schedule)

A section of competition day in the schedule (as in international start lists): scoring rotations contain the blocks (category × rotation), breaks and medal ceremonies are entries of their own. Every rotation has a day + start time + interval; rotations spread over several days automatically make a multi-day competition.

Roles in the organiser access

Who may do what online. **Owner**: everything, including deleting and changing the contract data. **Staff member**: everything for preparing, but not deleting. **Device**: the access of a competition device, limited to the ways the app really goes (see Device account). Not to be confused with the judge roles.

Rounding

Only the displayed score is rounded (standard presets: 2 places); internally the system keeps computing with full precision. The number of places is in the rule set (see Displayed decimal places).

Difficulty (DB / DA)

The difficulty values of a routine. DB = body difficulty, DA = apparatus difficulty (does not apply with “without apparatus”). Both are added to the apparatus score; a part not performed counts as 0.

Start group

Division of a large block (category × rotation) into groups (group 1, 2, …), like “group” in KSIS. Pure sequence information for scheduling and display — it has no influence on the scoring. Divide/dissolve in the schedule; fine corrections in the start order. Not to be confused with the RSG group, which is scored as a unit.

Trimmed mean

From a set number of judges (at least 3) the highest and the lowest deduction are dropped and only the rest is averaged (trimmed mean). Below that a simple mean of all deductions.

Disputed / tolerance

If two judges of the same kind (A1/A2 or E1/E2) are further apart with their deductions than the threshold from the tolerance table, the routine counts as “disputed”. This is reported to both tablets concerned and a new input is prompted. It runs on the server because both values are needed. The exact tolerance table is still open on the customer’s side.

Interval

Minutes per routine within a rotation (default 2). From this the app calculates the planned start time of every routine (rotation start + position × interval) — visible in the start order, the live control and the public start list.

Coaches’ portal

The online area in which coaches sign in, maintain their roster of gymnasts, enter competitions, store the apparatus selection and the competition music and later retrieve the results and individual score sheets of their gymnasts. It is separate from the competition management and sees only its own entries.

Hand over / take back

A competition planned online is handed over to the app as soon as it has fetched it (“Fetch plan”). From then on the app is the source; categories can no longer be changed online. Taking it back reverses that.

Routines (slot mode)

A third way of setting the apparatus programme of a category (besides a fixed apparatus list and “N out of a set”): a list of routines, position = rotation, and every routine is EITHER a fixed apparatus OR “by choice” — then the gymnast chooses her apparatus for exactly this routine when entering (like “by choice” in KSIS/rgform). Example: routine 1 = without apparatus (fixed), routine 2 = by choice. If a choice is missing, the gymnast appears as “apparatus missing” and gets no routines until it has been added.

Schedule

Tab of the toolbar: create rotations (scoring/break/medal ceremony), assign blocks, divide into start groups. The start numbers always follow the rotation order so that tablets, live control and arena display show the same sequence.

How the presets calculate

How the score arises from the settings in the scoring model — and what the individual presets change about it. All scores are always calculated from the raw values of the judges, never stored.

How an apparatus score is formed

The chain of steps is the same for all presets; the settings only change the building blocks. 1. Part scores: A score = A base value − mean A deduction; E score = E base (10) − mean E deduction. No part score ever below 0; without inputs = 0. 2. Averaging / dropping: from “trimmed mean from N judges” (and at least 3 values) the highest + lowest deduction fall away (trimmed mean), the rest is averaged; below that a simple mean of all deductions. 3. Apparatus score: DB + DA + A score + E score − neutral OBER deduction, never below 0. DB/DA only count if the component is active in the model. 4. Fine rules (optional): intermediate rounding of the apparatus score and a cap at a maximum score (“pot”) — only if set in the model (regional models).

How the final score is formed

The sum of the counting apparatus scores (which count is determined by the all-around of the category). Displayed rounded to the configured decimal places, internally full precision. The ranking is descending by points; a tie shares the place (the real tie-break rule is open on the customer’s side).

Free — FIG individual/group & RSG Bundesliga

A base 10, DB and DA active: apparatus score = DB + DA + (10 − Ø A deduction) + (10 − Ø E deduction) − OBER. Full panel A×4 / E×4, trimmed mean from 4 judges, display 2 places. Group and league compute identically — their particulars (9 counted DB or max. 3 routines per gymnast) lie outside the calculation. FIG free 2025–2028 (individual): Chips A [0.30 · 0.60 · 1.00], E [0.10 · 0.30 · 0.50 · 0.70 · 1.00], OBER [0.05 · 0.30 · 0.50]. The A chips are still placeholders in substance. FIG free 2025–2028 (group): computes like individual; the 9 counted DB are open. RSG Bundesliga (DTL): CoP-based like FIG free; the league key figures lie outside the calculation.

DTB compulsory age groups 7–12 (A+E)

No DB/DA: apparatus score = A score + E score − OBER. A score = A base value (from the compulsory catalogue) − Ø A deduction (the A judge taps 0.30 per missing compulsory element); E score = 10 − Ø E deduction. Judges A×1 / E×2. Without a set A base value the category deliberately does not compute (“open”) instead of showing a wrong number.

Regional federation (SHTV type) — locked

A+E as in compulsory, but with its own E/B base and a cap at a maximum score or “pots” (e.g. total 20.00). The calculation mechanics are there; the preset stays locked until the concrete regional values (A base values, maximum score, version) are confirmed — until then locked is better than wrong.

Where this is configured

All building blocks sit in Set up under “Scoring model”: judge counts, trimmed mean, rounding, components DB/DA, tolerance table and deduction chips; under “Advanced scoring” additionally intermediate rounding, maximum score/pots, best-N all-around, tie-break and club scoring. A preset pre-fills everything; every category can override it with a model of its own.

Judge roles

The abbreviations below name a POSITION on the judging panel — not what a person is entered as. That is the person role (see Technical terms).

A1 / A2 (artistry judges)

The artistry judges, always numbered. Each enters her artistry deduction (not the finished score). From the deductions the A score is calculated (base value minus the averaged deduction). A1 and A2 are checked against each other for tolerance. Behind the drawing area of the A judge lies the artistry sheet as a template to mark up.

DA (difficulty judge, apparatus)

Enters the apparatus difficulty (a difficulty value, not a deduction). Flows additively into the apparatus score. Does not apply with “without apparatus” (apparatus NONE) and in compulsory classes. With one seat the seat is simply called DA, with two seats DA1 and DA2.

DB (difficulty judge, body)

Enters the body difficulty (a difficulty value, not a deduction). Flows additively into the apparatus score. Does not apply in some compulsory classes. With one seat the seat is simply called DB, with two seats DB1 and DB2. On the iPad the DB judge can record her symbols and the score freehand; only the typed number remains authoritative for the scoring.

E1 / E2 (execution judges)

The execution judges, always numbered. Each enters her execution deduction (not the finished score). From the deductions the E score is calculated (10 minus the averaged deduction). E1 and E2 are checked against each other for tolerance.

OBER (head judges’ panel)

Enters a neutral deduction (for the line, time, infringements). It is subtracted from the apparatus score. No A/E deduction and no difficulty.

Data objects

AuditEvent (log)Kür App only

The record for decisions that are not a plain judge input: release changed, opened for correction, correction completed, score corrected, judge failed, judge reactivated, substitute judge. Every entry carries a time, the routine or judge seat concerned and — for a correction after the release — a required reason. It is only appended to, never changed. Visible in the score history.

Category

A competition class within the competition, e.g. year 2017B or 2018 DTB compulsory. Sets whether free or compulsory routines are performed, whether it is an individual or a group category, which apparatus the class performs and in which order, and which count towards the overall result (all-around). Important: which apparatus a class performs is set here by the management — not taken from the entry list. It can have a scoring model of its own (scoringModel) that overrides that of the competition.

Club

A club as a master record with an official spelling (e.g. “Rendsburger TSV von 1859 e.V.”) and a normalised form for matching so that a club exists only once. All gymnasts hang on their club.

ClubAlias

A known alternative spelling of a club (an abbreviation or a typo variant from an entry) that points to the same real club. During the import it makes sure that differently spelled club names are assigned to the right club automatically instead of creating a duplicate club.

Competition

The whole competition as one record: name, date, venue and organiser. The roof under which everything else hangs — categories, judges’ panels, sequence and start places always belong to exactly one competition. The scoring model is stored here as well (judge counts, score calculation, tolerances, rounding) along with the announcement and the state of the publication. Any number of competitions can exist side by side; the home page lists them all.

GeloeschterWettkampf (deleted here)

A note to self: this competition ID was removed in this installation while the online version continues to exist. It says nothing about the competition but about this device. Without it, “deleted here” looks from the outside exactly like “never fetched” — the competition would come back at the next opening as “not here yet” to be fetched. With it, it stands under “Completed”, with “Reactivate” and “Delete for good” in the ⋯ menu. The note disappears as soon as one of the two happens.

Gruppenanmeldung (RSG group entry)

An entered group: group name, club, country, category, the members with first name, last name and year of birth, plus contact and competition music. It comes from the online registration or is recorded by hand and taken over into a group category. From then on the group is the scoring unit: it gets start places, routines and scores like a single gymnast.

Gymnast

A single gymnast as a fixed master record: first name, last name, year of birth, country, club. Recognised unambiguously by the normalised name + year of birth + club so that the same person is not created twice. Belongs to exactly one club and can appear in start places and routines.

GymnastAlias

A known alternative spelling of a gymnast’s name (e.g. a maiden name, a different spelling) that points to the same gymnast. Prevents duplicates during the import.

JudgeSeat

A single seat in the judges’ panel with a fixed role (DB, DA, DB1/DB2, DA1/DA2, A1, A2, E1, E2 or OBER) and its own QR access with which the right tablet signs in at exactly this seat. Belongs to a panel; per panel every role exists only once. All inputs of that judge run through the seat. A seat stood down no longer counts towards completeness.

Tenant (tenantId)

The mark on every data row that says which organiser it belongs to. In the competition-day version every row carries the same value — there is only one there. Online it is the boundary between the organisers (see Tenant in the section Technical terms).

Panel (judges’ panel)

A judges’ panel (e.g. “Panel 1”) with its judge seats. It also remembers which routine is currently on — the management sets that, and all tablets and the display then show it live. Several floors side by side are possible; the live control switches between them.

Performance (routine)

A concrete routine: one gymnast or one group performs in one category on one apparatus (none/hoop/ball/clubs/ribbon/rope) — with a start number, a planned start time, an assigned rotation and a judges’ panel. The unit that is scored. The sequence status says where it stands: PLANNED, CURRENT (on right now), DONE or SCRATCHED; in addition the release status (CHECKED, RELEASED — only then does the score count for the ranking). Per participant, category and apparatus there is exactly one routine.

Rule set / scoringModel

The chosen scoring rule set as configuration (not code): judge count, trimmed mean, rounding, score model (free/compulsory), tolerance table, deduction chips, artistry sheet and origin/version. The organiser chooses a preset (e.g. FIG free 2025–2028), the fields are pre-filled and stay adjustable. Rule sets that cannot be computed are locked in the picker.

Rotation (schedule block)

A time block in the course of the day: a numbered stage with a start time and a type — SCORING (routines are performed and scored), BREAK or MEDAL CEREMONY. This divides competition day into sections; every routine to be performed hangs on a rotation. Not to be confused with the apparatus rotation.

ScoreDrawing (drawing)Kür App only

The freehand record of a judge on the iPad: the strokes belonging to exactly one input, stored as vectors (not an image). For the DB judge these are symbols and the handwritten score, for the A judge the marks on the artistry sheet. The record is NEVER read out or calculated with — only the typed number is authoritative. It serves traceability in case of queries.

ScoreEntry (raw value / score input)Kür App only

A single value input of a judge for a routine: the pure raw value — depending on the role a deduction (A/E), a difficulty value (DB/DA) or a neutral deduction (OBER). It remembers which judge seat and tablet the value came from. On a correction the old value is kept as history and points to the new one — nothing is ever overwritten. Only raw values are stored; all scores, sums and placings are calculated from them. Sending the same input twice has no effect (a fixed ID from the tablet).

Record (state fetched)

The state last fetched from the online registration: contracts agreed to, consent confirmations of the clubs, access log — and the contract data of the organiser that the account shows. It is replaced at every successful retrieval and carries the time of that retrieval. It exists so that on competition day, without internet, there is something to show at all; it is never displayed without its date. Per kind and reference there is exactly one — a history of fetched states is not kept.

KontoAenderung (pending account change)Kür App only

A change of the contract data entered in the account that has not been transferred yet. On competition day the Kür App works without internet; whoever corrects the address of the club there should still be able to do so. The change is kept and sent at the next opening of the account with a connection. Per organiser there is at most one: the contract data is a state, not a process — a new input replaces the pending one instead of queuing behind it. If sending fails, it stays and shows the reason; only a missing connection leads to waiting at all, a change refused by the online service does not.

Start number (startNr)

The running number of a routine in the start order. It sets the order in which the participants take to an apparatus.

Function person

Someone who belongs to the competition but does not compete: a judge, a coach or delegation. There are two ways one comes into being — a club enters them through the portal, or the organiser adds them directly (the federation's judge, a replacement found in the hall). Both end up in the same list. A judge can be assigned to a judging position from there; the name then appears on the QR sheet and on the tablet.

Person role

What someone belongs to a competition as: gymnast, judge, coach or delegation. It sits on the roster entry (as a default) and on the entry itself (as the decision) — the same person may compete at one competition and judge at the next. Only a gymnast takes a start place, has a category and a year of birth. NOT to be confused with the judging role (E1, A2, DB), which names a position on the judging panel.

Judge entry

The entry of a judge for a competition. It takes no start place and costs no entry fee; instead it carries a licence, by which the competition management fills the judging positions. There are two ways to it: a club enters them through the portal, or the organiser adds them directly — in the set-up, online or through the AI access.

Start place (entry)

The entry of a gymnast or a group in a category: participant × category = one start place, still without an apparatus. This is what comes from the entry list, the import or the online registration. Unique per competition, participant and category (no double entry). It also carries the apparatus selection of the gymnast, a differing apparatus programme and her competition music. The individual apparatus routines only arise later from category × apparatus programme, not from the import.

Tolerance table

The threshold stored in the rule set for how far apart two judges of the same kind may be, graded by score range (higher scores tolerated more tightly). Currently placeholder values, to be confirmed by the customer (see Disputed / tolerance).
